Ribbon Session Border Controller (SBC) SWe Lite in the Azure marketplace

OK I’m a little late to blog this one (sorry, blog backlog!), Ribbon have joined AudioCodes and Anynode by having a Teams Direct Routing certified SBC being available in the Azure Marketplace.

  • A low-cost single vCPU Azure VM (Virtual Machine) can host the SBC SWe Lite, supporting the voice security and interworking needs of small to medium businesses ranging from 10 to 1000 employees. Two and four vCPU Azure VM options are available for larger businesses with up to 4000 employees.
  • Services that enable and enhance user calling experience (music on hold, comfort noise, silence suppression, jitter compensation, high fidelity <-> low fidelity audio conversion), often unavailable or limited from other vendors in Azure deployments, remain fully available in all SBC SWe Lite configurations.
  • Simple, intuitive user interface configures and activates Direct Routing for Microsoft Teams in minutes; 3-step wizard connects Teams/Skype for Business to SIP trunks, or SIP based PBXs from Avaya®, Cisco® and many others.

Luca Vitali has done a great Ribbon SWe Lite step-by-step deployment on Azure overview blog.

Ribbon offers a no obligation trial license to potential customers/partners to evaluate the SBC SWe Lite. The no obligation trial license activates:

  • 5 complimentary SIP?SIP signalling sessions
  • 3 media sessions with media manipulation (transcoding, encryption)
  • 5 SIP device registrations.
