Today at the Windows 11 launch event, Microsoft showed some new Microsoft Teams experiences integrated into Windows 11.
Chat from Microsoft Teams will be integrated into the taskbar, you will also be able to mute and unmute, or start presenting directly from the taskbar.
Even though this was the windows 11 event, Microsoft Teams got a lot of love and airtime.
This is actually a new teams client, built on new technology. Initially, this experience will just for teams consumer/home, but it will come later to the enterprise.
Microsoft Teams to get SMS support?
Also mentioned in the Windows 11 blog, “If the person you’re connecting to on the other end hasn’t downloaded the Teams app, you can still connect with them via two-way SMS.”. We’ve seen mention of SMS in the Teams Admin Center for ages but nothing has come of it, maybe this is finally SMS coming to Microsoft Teams.
Windows 11 Release date?
Windows 11 will be offered as an upgrade to eligible devices running Windows 10, and on new devices, later this calendar year.
For administrators managing devices on behalf of their organization, Windows 11 will be available through the same, familiar channels you use today for Windows 10 feature updates.
