An interesting development at Enterprise Connect, that didn’t get a great deal of press, was the early showcasing of IP video phones for Microsoft Teams.
The Poly CCX 700, Crestron Flex P250 and Yealink VP59 will all offer natives Microsoft Teams video calling.
Poly CCX 700 will come with a 7-inch multitouch screen and integrated 1080p HD built-in camera. It can also be purchases with a bundled headset. They will be available in CYQ3 in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Additional countries to follow.
The Crestron Flex P250 is a coming Teams video phone from Crestron. There are limited details at this time.
The Yealink VP59 offers a fully adjustable 8 inch 1280×800-pixel colour touch display and a 1080p HD camera.
None of the phones are released yet. I look forward to testing out these phones in due course.
I am very anxious to see more Teams phones available. After using the available Yealink T58a though, which is much more a proof of concept than a fully realized device, I hope all the vendors let these bake and get them right.
