Poly announced today the new Trio C60, a new conference phone that will support Microsoft Teams.

  • Stand on its own as a high-quality conference phone, or, it can be used to control other endpoints like the Poly Studio X Family or G7500.
  • Support a variety of the leading open SIP and UC&C services, Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Optional wired expansion microphones will be available Spring 2020 allowing you to ‘daisy chain’ up to three devices for larger spaces.
  • DECT wireless expansion mics coming soon
  • Quad-core processor and Android 9 giving up to 4x better performance than its predecessors
  • 2.4-5GHz WIFI with multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO)
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Volume controls on each side of the phone
  • Proximity sensor to wake it up from about 3 meters away
  • Noiseblock AI – dynamically filters out background noise

It’s not yet on the Microsoft Teams certified device list, but I expect to see it there soon. I’ve always been impressed with the Trio, I look forward to getting hands-on with this one.

  1. Tom, when it says “can be used to control other endpoints like the Poly Studio X Family or G7500”, do you know if this is true when in the teams android OS?

It will be true to allow it to control the X collab bar when that runs in Teams collab bar mode.

It looks pretty neat setup like that.

Same for zoom. I’m not sure for other platforms.

  2. Thanks for clarifying. I see this as a great replacement for the Trio 8500/8800 RealPresence Kits. Hopefully the legacy Trio’s will control the X collab bars also. Then there is a small uplift to get an endpoint with centre of table controls without full re-investment.
