I’m fortunate to get to test out quite a lot of UC kit, but those who follow my blog know I don’t do a lot of “kit posts”. It’s not that I don’t like talking about devices, but I like to use something for a reasonable amount of time before doing a blog or video review. Poly provided this unit for my testing. They had no influence or input on this review.
I’ve been using the Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC as my home daily driver headset for a few months now, and I’ve been impressed. I’ve been using the Teams version (of course).
It’s nice and light on. I like the elastic headband. It feels solid and has plenty of adjustability. It’s on-ear rather than over-ear, so it’s not super isolating, which I prefer when at my desk (though I personally go over ear in a coffee shop scenario). It also sounds fine for music. Battery life has been great.
It has the Poly “Acoustic Fence” technology; I’m told by people on the remote on the mic does a good job of cancelling out background noise. I often have a busy house with my two girls running around, and nothing seems to get picked up.
Firmware updates were easy via Poly Lens or the iPhone app. I like updating via mobile apps these days, but of course, that won’t update the dongle (come on dongle free certified headsets!).
Not the cheapest headset, but if you are using a headset all day, you should invest in something solid. I can happily recommend the Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC as a good option to look at.
Spec highlights:

- Wear boom “left or right”, and L/R audio will swap
