Plantronics completes acquisition of Polycom, moves forward as a single company

First reported on at the end of March,  Plantronics has announced the deal is now complete. Polycom will become part of Plantronics, moving forward as a single company. Their portfolio will span headsets, software, desk phones, audio and video conferencing, analytics and services.

“The acquisition of Polycom will accelerate and expand Plantronics’ vision and enable it to deliver the broadest portfolio of endpoints in the Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) ecosystem.”

I would expect no immediate changes, these integrations take time. This does put Plantronics in a powerful position to offer a whole range of endpoints and services to customers. I think it will be a great home for Polycom.

Under terms of the acquisition agreement, Plantronics acquired Polycom at a $2.0 billion enterprise value with the total consideration consisting of approximately $1.638 billion in cash and 6.352 million Plantronics shares.
