There are two steps to allow Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365, the paid Copilot experience for Microsoft 365, to access web content as part of its answers. An admin setting and a user setting.
1. Admin setting to allow or disallow Copilot to improve responses with web content
Access to web content is automatically turned on when you first start using Copilot. Admins can control it with the following steps:
Search admins and Global admins:
- In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings > Search & intelligence.
- On the Configurations page, select Improved responses with web content in Copilot for Microsoft 365.

Global admins only:
- In the admin center, go to Settings > Org settings.
- On the Copilot page, select Improved responses with web content in Copilot for Microsoft 365.

2. User setting to allow or disallow Copilot to improve responses with web content
This can be a little undiscoverable, so I decided to do a blog, as I have been asked a few times.
There’s a separate toggle for end users to enable and disable web access for Microsoft Copilot, and it can be found in the Plugins menu for Copilot. This toggle is initially off by default, and users will have to enable it to receive this experience. The button is in the chat dialogue.

You will now notice when generating prompts Copilot will also note it is accessing web content:
