On Friday Microsoft their 5th Skype for Business broadcast, where they previewed the all new, built from the ground up, Skype for Business Mac client.
Here are the key details:
- Simple single window view with optional pop out conversations
- Similar elements to Surface Hub, similar design language
- Mac will be the most modern, forward client, actually leapfrogging Windows 32 client. It’s a first class citizen
- Gallery View
- “Full Bleed” content and video experience (please bring this to the windows client!)
- 64 bit native, Swift 2.1
- Quality and reliability are priority 1
- Future on-going development and new features
The Preview is due Q2 2016 and GA is currently due Summer 2016
