Microsoft Teams Meeting Auto Recording

image

Keep forgetting to press the record button? This new feature will allow meeting organisers to set the meeting to automatically start recording in the meeting options.

This option can be enabled for a single meeting occurrence or for a series, not as a default for all meetings X person schedules.

The meeting initiator (first to join) and meeting organizer will both have owner rights to the recording.

The meeting will automatically start recording after the first participant joins the meeting.

This is not policy/compliance recording

It’s worth noting that this is automatically triggering convivence recording, organisers can still stop the recording.

This is not the same as policy or compliance recording, where a policy can be set to forcibly record all calls and or meetings that the user cannot override.

Normal and GCC tenants will begin rolling this out in late June and expect to complete rollout in mid-July.

DoD and GCC-High will begin rolling this out in late July and expect to complete rollout in mid-August.
