Polycom has announced a series of new phones, the VVX150 (not listed with SfB server support), VVX250, VVX350 and VVX450.

  • VVX 250 4-line Desktop Business IP Phone with dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports
  • VVX 350 6-line Desktop Business IP Phone with dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports
  • VVX 450 12-line Desktop Business IP Phone with dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports

It seemed they are more focused at the ITSP/service provider area of the market. The above new Phones are supported for Skype for Business Server installations but do not support Skype for Business Online.

It’s interesting to see if Microsoft will be adding new phones to the Skype for Business Certified Phone list, they are not yet on the list: https://partnersolutions.skypeforbusiness.com/solutionscatalog/ip-phones

I will post more if and when I get hands-on with them.

  • That is correct, these newer x50 (250, 350, 450) models will be supported with Skype for Business Server only, they will not be supported with Office 365 so they cannot be used with Skype for Business Online or Microsoft Teams. A new family of phones with native Teams supports has already been announced for release next year.

So the simple guidance is for SfB Online and/or Teams deployments the previous VVX models are still recommended (VVX 201, 30x, 31x, 40x, 41x, 50x, 60x).
