Skype for Business Mac Client due Summer 2016 – Early Screenshots and Details

 

imageOn Friday Microsoft their 5th Skype for Business broadcast, where they previewed the all new, built from the ground up, Skype for Business Mac client.

Here are the key details:

 

  • Simple single window view with optional pop out conversations
  • Similar elements to Surface Hub, similar design language
  • Mac will be the most modern, forward client, actually leapfrogging Windows 32 client. It’s a first class citizen
  • Gallery View
  • “Full Bleed” content and video experience (please bring this to the windows client!)
  • 64 bit native, Swift 2.1
  • Quality and reliability are priority 1
  • Future on-going development and new features

 

The Preview is due Q2 2016 and GA is currently due Summer 2016
