May Lync / Skype For Business Client Update brings Security Fix and New Features

The May Skype for Business client update is out:







It brings an important security fix, MS15-044, and also a lot of other fixes and features.

Note, this patch also includes the previously released Lync 2013/Skype for Business UI changes, be sure you understand them.

My favourite new feature, we can finally disable the annoying (IMHO) name and date insertion when you copy past from chat:

  • We have been investigating the rollout of this update over the past few days as we didn’t deploy the April update. We have since found out that one of the pre-req’s is Office 2013 SP1 before be before we can deploy it. Our Office environment is Office 2010 so we have mixed Office shared components like the MSO.
