A look inside the NET/ Sonus UX1000 Gateway/Survivable Branch Appliance – Photos of the hardware

My blog post giving an early look at the net UX1000 got a lot of interest, so I thought people might be interested in some more on the net 1000. The unit is now GA, and I had a chance to play with another unit today. This post is a brief look at what is actually inside the net UX1000.

Rear, combinations of ports will vary depending on your setup:
• Up to 2 T1/E1 CAS (Channel Associated Signaling)/PRI (Primary Rate Interface) digital voice/TDM ports
• Up to 8 BRI (Basic Rate Interface) digital voice/TDM ports
• Up to 24 FXS (Foreign eXchange Station) analog ports
• Up to 24 globally compliant FXO (Foreign eXchange Office) analog port

The FXS/FXO/BRI modules are ‘stackable’ bottom one plugs into the gateway mainboard, the top one plugs into the bottom one

The SBA module has a connection directly to the Gateway mainboard. This allows a single web interface to manage both the gateway an SBA as a single unit.
